Garlic antibacterial

It is well known that one of the causes of acne is bacteria. This is why dermatologists prescribe antibiotics for bad cases of acne. It is also well known that garlic is one of the most potent natural antibacterials we have. If your acne is caused in part by bacteria then here is a very good, inexpensive remedy.

Once a day, take a clove of garlic and cut in half. Rub the cut side of the garlic onto your face, specifically those areas affected by acne. Leave this on for 15 to 20 minutes (if it starts burning too bad you can wash it off earlier). Rinse with clean water when done. The natural antibacterial properties of the garlic will help to kill any acne-causing bacteria.

A hint: try this at night or on a weekend first to make sure your face isn't going to be bright red afterwards.

What wants to smell like garlic?

Garlic isn't the most friendly scent. After chopping garlic your hands stink for days. What person would want their trademark scent to be garlic? I'm sure onions which are rich in anti-oxidants, good as anti-bacterial, and is an anti-inflamatory would work as well, but no one is going to rub them on their body because they stink.
