Potatoes have very powerful absorbing qualities. I know when I'm making soup, if I add too much salt, I can just cut up a potato into large chunks and toss it in. After simmering for a bit, the potato will pull out some of the salt. You can use this same principle to pull toxins and impurities out of your skin. Here's what to do:
Take a medium sized potato and grate it up. Lie down on your back with a towel under your head and the grated potatoes within reach. Carefully apply the potatoes to those portions of your face/skin that have problems. You'll have to lie fairly still so the potato stays on. Just put on some music beforehand and relax. The longer you can keep the potato next to your skin, the more bad stuff it will pull out.
I've not yet found a good way to keep the potato against the skin and still be able to move around. If anyone has any ideas, please share them, as I'd love to know!

How to keep potato on your face!
Every morning and night, right after washing my face I apply Aloe Vera Juice in a sprayer bottle to wet my skin again. Then I cut a slice of Yukon Gold potato and smear the slice on my face, leaving a non-visible residue on the skin. You need a wet face before smearing it on because the potato's juices are activated by water. Allow it to dry on your face and do not wash it off. I apply Evening Primrose Oil as a moisturizer on top. The potato is excellent for disinfecting and calming the skin and drying out pimples.
dish soap
I just add a bit of dish soap to my normal cleaner for my face and use it plain on my shoulders. Many dish soaps claim to "cut grease" so by adding it to your daily routine, it removes oil that may clog pores.
also works great for greasy hair, or in the summer when the heat causes perspiration
dish soap - NO!
Dish soap has too many harsh things in it for skin. Please do not use!
Dish Soap to remove grease
Whilst I understand that having greasy skin is annoying, and yes, it seems that this clogs up pores, I too have to stress DON'T USE DISH SOAP on your face. Not only because it has some really nasty chemicals in it, but when you look at the skin itself, the reason it's putting up some oil is to protect itself (and people with more oily skin age so gracefully with less wrinkles!!!). When you remove that oil, it's going to want to make more oil, and you end up having over productive oil glands. The way to go is to remove a little by blotting the oil away if you feel you have to, or use a really good certified organic cleanser with a toner that contains NO ALCOHOL!! And most of all, continue to moisturise your face, it's important that you give your skin the moisture it might lose by removing some of that oil off your skin!
Add some honey!
A little bit of honey makes it stick to your face really well. Not only that but Honey is an excellent remedy for acne as well, double dose of anti-acne goodness! I suffered (and I mean SUFFERED) with sensitive skin as well as acne for YEARS and I am finally acne free thanks to using a combination of honey, oatmeal, lemon juice and potato! Natural rememdies are EXCELLENT for sensitive skin.

Grated potato poultice
A few years ago I was undergoing dialysis, using ports implanted into my upper chest. For some reason I had a large caruncle or boil develop close to these ports and the dialysis nurses had no suggestions except to wait and bring the matter to the Dr.'s attention the next week, when he made rounds. I was unwilling to wait that long and decided to apply a grated potato poultice to the area.
I began by thoroughly washing the potato-leaving the skin on. I then grated approximately 1/2 of the medium potato, skin included. Using a non-stick 4x4 medical pad, I placed the grated potato onto the pad and paper taped it very well over the affected area. It helps to pre-tape the pad before adding the potato on top of it. The grated potato was in direct contact with the skin.
I left this poultice on approximately 24 hours, although some persons prefer to redress the area with the same method after 12 hours. When I removed the poultice, the potato had turned charcoal black and the carbuncle had reached a very prominent "head." At the risk of sounding gross, I then applied minimal pressure to the carbuncle; (make sure you are somewhere you can clean up easily-like a bathroom) and it exploded 3 seperate times. I applied triple antibiotic ointment, then put a band-aid over the smalll wound. The area then healed very quickly with daily band-aid and ointment changes and it presented no further problems. In this instance, the poultice worked exceedingly well at drawing the "poison" or infection, to the surface, where it was easily remedied. I strongly recommend this treatment for similar afflictions.
How to keep potato on your skin and move it around
Put the potatoes in between two pieces of gauze or cheesecloth. Some may still come out but mostly it should stay under control.
I tape a piece of potato to my face
I have 2 giant zits on my face; one on my chin and one right between my eyes. They are monsters. I peeled a thick piece of skin skin a small gold potato and taped a piece over the zits. After about an hour I looked at them, and they're a lot smaller and less red. I'm leaving a piece of potato skin taped on all night. I think it's really working.
