Some foods to avoid for acne

There's plenty of research out there saying that diet has nothing to do with acne. However, there's also plenty of stories we've all heard from people swearing that certain foods cause outbreaks. Scientific research doesn't always have the whole picture, and we must keep that in mind. Following the rules of a healthy diet may or may not help your acne, but it certainly won't hurt your health in general. Therefore any acne sufferer that wants to get rid of acne should be mindful of what they eat.

Certain kinds of foods stress the body in certain ways. Some foods, such as highly processed and refined foods, sap the body's energy (energy that could go into keeping skin and other organs healthy) in order to digest and process these unnatural foods. Therefore we should stay away from foods made with white flour, sugar, etc.

Meat is another thing that is difficult for the body to process. And during it's time in the body, meat releases a slew of toxins that the body must deal with. (One of the ways the body rids itself of toxins is through the skin. There's no way that doesn't affect acne.)

Some other kinds of food to avoid that can aggravate your acne: coffee and other drinks high in caffeine, soft drinks (or really any sugary drink), ice cream obviously, candy, extremely salty foods like potato chips or pickles.

The pattern here is obvious: foods that are bad for you body in general are bad for your acne. The best acne treatment around is a healthy body.
