I've always noticed that in times of stress my acne tends to get worse. The reason for this is that hormones that are released by stress tend to cause an increase in production of the oils in the skin. These oils are what the acne bacteria feed on, and so as the presence of these natural skin oils rises and falls, so does the acne causing bacteria, and thus the acne itself.
A good practice to add to your daily acne-battling routine then is to do any kind of stress-relieving activity. These can include meditation, yoga, or really any form of exercise (just be sure to shower and cleanse after getting sweaty). Other forms of stress relief exist, so just find one that works for you. Not only will it improve your acne, but it will make your day to day life that much more pleasant!
