1. Mask from turmeric (turmeric powder and a bit of water to get a paste). I put it on my face for about 10 min or until dry. It mildly stings my face. I like when it happens, especially when it comes to acne and oily skin like mine. The next day all my existing pimples are visibly dried up and the following day, they are almost gone. One of the cons, however, of this mask is that it stains your skin yellow and it's really hard to get rid of it. So, warn your family about what you're doing. (more...)
I have had acne for a long time - like 5 or 6 years. I tried just about everything - including Proactive, which made my face dry and itchy, without doing anything for my acne. Recently I've really gotten into making my own face products, for a few reasons: it is cheap, it is easy, it is good for my skin, and I know exactly what all the ingredients are.

Create a solution of equal parts lemon juice and rose water. You can make as much as you need for a week or so and keep it in the refrigerator. Once a day apply this solution to your acne-prone areas using a cotton ball. Let the solution dry on your face and leave for half an hour. Rinse with cool water.
